About the event
Learning how to navigate in the fells is an important and also really fun skill to learn but can feel overwhelming! If you are looking to learn how to confidently navigate and enjoy a day in the hills this beginner-friendly navigation day in the Lake District is perfect for you!
If want to stop relying on phone apps, this relaxed and supportive day will cover the essentials of map and compass navigation in real mountain terrain.
You’ll learn how to read a map, use a compass, understand contours, follow paths (and find them again when they disappear), and make simple, safe route choices.
Everything is taught at an unhurried pace, with plenty of time to practise and ask questions.
No prior navigation or hiking experience needed, just a willingness to learn and spend a day getting more confident outdoors. Perfect for anyone looking to enjoy the fells with greater independence and peace…
