BEN NEVIS VIA CÀRN MÒR DEARG (CMD)

We're heading into the Scottish Highlands to take on Ben Nevis via one of its most spectacular routes: the Càrn Mòr Dearg (CMD) Arête.

The CMD Arête is a grade 1 scramble, with hands on sections, exposed ridge line walking and some seriously impressive views across the North Face. Once we've crossed the ridge, we'll make our way up the final rocky ascent to the summit of Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK. This is a challenging but rewarding day of mountain adventures. You don't need to be an experienced scrambler, but you do need to be comfortable with exposed terrain and using your hands on rocky ground.

As always with Made Wild, we'll tackle it together, with a qualified female mountain leader guiding the group and plenty of encouragement, chat and mountain magic along the way. Expect a big day, big views and that very satisfying feeling of standing on the UK's highest summit.

Getting there:

We will begin our hike from the Ben Nevis North Face car park (w3w///prepared.swims.evenly). This is a paid car park with plenty of space.

Who's this for:

This is a big mountain day out and while no specific scrambling experience is required, good fitness, hill confidence and steady footing is a must. You should be able to hike continuously at a steady pace for up to 10 hours and be comfortable with long ascents and descents.
