About the event
One of our most popular trips, the Welsh 3000's over three days is something that you will never forget. This is an incredible opportunity to take on the infamous Welsh 3000s challenge at an enjoyable pace. Over three days summit the fifteen highest mountains in Wales , all over 3000ft throughout Eryri National Park, taking in incredible views and tick off classic grade 1 scrambles along the way.

Where we'll stay:
We will be staying in the beautiful Lodge Dinorwig which we will have exclusive use of. Nestled in the hills with beautiful views of Snowdon, this is the perfect haven for our weekend to relax, have fun and be immersed in the hills. The accommodation comprises of a shared bunk room, a kitchenette with fridge, kettle and microwave as well as showers and toilets.
Getting there:
Lodge Dinorwig is located in the centre of Snowdonia National Park (w3w///quite.wiggling.listening) and is easily accessible by both car and public transport.
By Car: The hostel has a carpark attached to it which is free for us to use. Car shares are encouraged where possible. If you are driving and can give others a lift pop it in the group chat and inversely if you need some help don’t be afraid to ask!
By public transport: Sherpa Snowdonia buses stop outside the hostel (see: https://www.sherparwyddfa.wales/map.shtml). The S3 bus will take you from Caernafron or Bangor which both have train stations.

Itinerary
Day 1: The Snowdon Massif
We’ll start big with Wales’ highest mountain, Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), following the famous red ridge that links its three 3000ft peaks, Snowdon, Garnedd Ugain and the famous ridge scramble Crib Goch. Expect incredible views, a few butterflies, and a massive sense of accomplishment by the end of day one.
12km | ~ 1000m ascent | 6–7 hrs walking
Stay: In our booked accommodation (shared hostel style accommodation)
Day 2: The Glyderau Ridge
A day of classic Eryri terrain: rocky summits, sweeping ridgelines and quiet mountain tarns. We’ll summit Elidir Fawr, Y Garn, Glyder Fawr, Glyder Fach and Tryfan, some of the most iconic peaks in Wales.
13km | ~ 1200m ascent | 7–8 hrs walking
Stay: Return to our accommodation
Day 3: The Carneddau
The final stretch takes us across the broad, wild Carneddau range, vast, open and peaceful. We’ll summit Pen yr Ole Wen, Carnedd Dafydd, Carnedd Llewelyn and Foel-fras before descending toward the coast at Abergwyngregyn.
20km | ~ 1000m ascent | 7–9 hrs walking
Return to our accom for our final night and no doubt a visit to the pub!
Please be aware this is a multi day trip packed with incredible, challenging and long mountain days. You should have a reasonable level of fitness and confidence walking at heights. Scrambling experience is not necessary but we will be traversing the famous Crib Goch which an an exposed grade 1 scramble. Ready to Join?
